Did anyone catch Covid from going to the game last Monday?
Maybe too early to ask, but apparently it spread a lot in the crowds during the Euros. Just wondering if the same thing is happening at premier league games.

My kids got KFC from Westfield. They were told they couldn't take it in the brown paper KFC bag past the security checkpoint. Not a big "family size" bag - one of the little ones.

Other people were getting in with proper bags.

Not that I am aware, security checks were minimal, the queues were at the turnstiles with people trying to get through the world class state of the art code readers

Did the security check anyone's Covid passport / PCR test results at the home games vs Leicester or Palace?

The thread is about catching covid. As I understand it you caught it and had a bike accident. You must be unlucky.

I didn't really know where I was going to park my bike as I've changed seats from section A to C. As it was my brother ended up carrying it to Hackney Wick station and I got off the London Overground at Kentish Town West which is across the road from where I live.

The one thing that you can absolutely rely on regarding luck is that it WILL change, Branded.

Not dead, nothing even broken (I don't think). If it is it's probably ribs and they can't do anything about them anyway.

A bit of R&R and I'll be peachy again. I just think it's a bit hypercritical of you with your constant 'people die' nonsense on the covid thread to you being 'Some people say you make your own luck of course by judging the merits of each decision you make' on this one.

Should I ride around with a fucking mattress wrapped around me because once in every 25 years some dopey bint on her first day in the country has her brain switched off on a roundabout and hits you up the arse at 30mph, potentially killing someone?

Well. You are definitely the most unlucky person. Some people say you make your own luck of course by judging the merits of each decision you make. I like cycling but drivers are cunts. Generally. The more drivers you encounter the more the probability one will be an über cunt. As far as travelling on public transport, I never stopped except briefly for three weeks in early April 2020.

Where do you park your bike, The cunts have moved all the bike stands fromj infront of the orbit, which was great for me going to F block.

Re: Did anyone catch Covid from going to the game last Monday?
Is that REALLY the 'moral of the story'?

You seem to think that every motive anyone has is to avoid the pandemic, like it's on our minds 24/7? On the contrary, I cycle to games so I am a little bit more robust as should I catch it again.

I love cycling, hold an advanced motorcycle license (for Virgin Limobike's insurance policy) and haven't ever had a serious push bike accident.

On the one hand you seem to say 'just live your life despite the virus' and the next 'oh you should have gone by train as it's safer than riding a bike'.

You are well down that little rabbit hole of yours, aren't you?

You can stop giving me the benefit of your sage advice now mate. 20/20 hindsight is a wonderful gift you seem to have but as I struggle to the khazi on my crutches I am not in the best of receptive moods.

Moral of the story is:
” is cycling round London more dangerous than going on the tube in a pandemic?”

I never cycle in London because drivers are cunts.

Cheers E.

Thankfully I have got some pretty heavy duty painkillers here but they are only just about touching the sides.

The really scary thing is that this woman is still free to drive.

Re: Did anyone catch Covid from going to the game last Monday?
I was pretty worried that I'd catch Covid (again) because of my wrecked immune system but I figured I can't just stop life indefinitely and went last Monday.

On Thursday I had a palliative care appointment at the Royal Free and I know my consultant has already had Covid pretty badly so out of courtesy I took a lateral flow test and it came back negative.

So I confidently set out on my pushbike yesterday to go to the game. Rode from home in Camden, up Pentonville road through heavy traffic, Hackney road, through Victoria park and across the bridge to Wick Lane roundabout (right next to The Big Yellow Storage warehouse).

Going round the roundabout some silly cunt in a Burka didn't give way from the right and hit my bike up the arse at about 30mph and drove off leaving me unconscious (only for about 30 seconds) and a lovely bunch of Hammers dragged me off the road before someone else ran me over.

Eventually her son banged on the side of the ambulance and said because she doesn't speak English she'd panicked and driven off.

The police who turned up (one of whom was called constable Haddeed or something) said there wasn't much they could do as the roundabout wasn't covered by CCTV and it was my word against hers.

I asked if he was joking. I showed him the back wheel of my bike that was more or less folded in half and said 'from the look of my bike, does it look like I was hit from behind or does it look like I crashed into the car'? If I was in a car and hit another car up the arse, who would be to blame?

He half-heartedly took a photo of my rear wheel (but not my bleeding head (both sides), shins and elbows. Then he said 'but there were no witnesses and I said there were fucking loads of witnesses and gave him the phone number of one of them.

They say that the law is blind but I have to wonder if me, a working class white bloke had hit a poor Bangladeshi lady on her bike and driven away, would I have been treated the same? They basically just let her go and gave me her details which I found pretty fucking shabby.

So I missed the game, my brother carried my bike up onto the platform at Hackney Wick and someone helped me down the stairs at Kentish Town West and I feel like I've been dropped out of an aeroplane.

If anything it hurts more today than yesterday. I'm lucky that it only hurts when I breath!

Jesus, why always me?

You won’t realistically catch covid from the game itself.

It’s the train or the pub which will be the spreader

Mini plum pomadarinos or cherry pomadarinos for the bill. I’m the same as you with tomatoes and only buy these. But if I can’t get them then the sugar trick works a treat.

Anyone else enjoy fried tomatoes on toast?
